Welcome to White Acres Farm. We are a family with earth friendly values. We feel that buying local and supporting sustainable agribusiness is very important. By enjoying the available organic foods, and sharing our healthy experience with others, we will be building a better future for us all.
Our journey began when we became aware of the difference between organic and conventional produce. Our belief is foods that are fresh and free of chemicals are the most flavorful and healthful for us. Because of our travels and experiences, we really enjoy and appreciate different types of food and flavors. We hope that you too can enjoy some of the products that we have created.
Akiko White was born and raised in Cisco, Texas. Daughter of a Japanese mother and a German/Irish father, this small town girl has a tenacious character and has always had high expectations. She attended college at the McNay Art Institute in San Antonio, later finishing her degree at Texas State University. Akiko worked several years as a graphic artist for a publishing company in San Antonio. After the birth of her children she did some freelance artwork on the side. All of the art and graphics for White Acres Farm were created and designed by Akiko. She has always been interested in cooking, gardening and many creative and artistic projects.
Scott White was born in Hawaii but soon moved to his father’s hometown of San Antonio, Texas. At a young age he was introduced to photography at Southwest School of Arts. With an interest in botany, he worked a full semester at Lone Star Growers, a large wholesale nursery in San Antonio. After graduating from the University of the Incarnate Word, Scott later pursued a year in graduate school
at the University of Colorado where he studied landscape architecture, which in turn lead him into a career in architectural photography. He still does some freelance work today. Along with the photographic creativity, Scott is very well educated in plants. He is learning more through his experiences in organic farming.
